In the countryside, when your front door or driveway is hidden or perhaps on the side of a busy road or lane, where to leave a parcel can be difficult for the delivery driver or postman. Leaving a package on a rain-slicked porch isn't just risky—it’s an invitation for dampness or curious wildlife to get involved and sadly an increasing amount of opportunistic theft.
A handmade wooden parcel box acts as a sturdy, weather-resistant sanctuary, keeping deliveries secure from the elements and blending naturally into the rural aesthetic in a way that plastic bins never could.
Our parcel delivery boxes are handcrafted from locally sourced woods rather than mass-produced plastic or other manufactured compounds. All parcel boxes are made to our highest level of quality.
We make a standard softwood parcel box from western red cedar and redwood. The box is raised sitting on base struts. The internal dimensions are (wxdxh) 66x40x40cm. External dimension 88x60x58cm. The roof is covered with EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer). We use marine heavy-duty hinges and stainless steel screws. Wood is a living material and does expand and contract. It has naturally occuring markings which can be visible.
